I have been making some vintage style cards and one of my favourite paper series to use is the Fan Fair DSP.
On the card in this example, I have used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on cardstock in the corner but I have also added a little touch of my own by using an embossing folder as a background stamp over the pink paper.
This technique is easy to do by gently tapping a large ink pad over the raised side of an embossing folder and pressing it onto your paper or card. To create a lighter image, I tend to very softly dab at the inked folder before stamping.
This is a great way to coordinate your cards and scrapbook layouts.
In this card I have used crumb cake paper, fan fair DSP, Creative Elements stamp, some very vanilla seam binding and - of course for the ultimate in vintage - one of the gorgeous vintage faceted designer buttons.
You may also notice I have added some lace under the binding. This is a stamped image using a builder wheel stamp - Viola's Lace. This was stamped onto very vanilla paper using Early Espresso ink and cut. I love the effect of this stamp which gives a real vintage addition to your projects.
