Class dates 2014

Hello and welcome to my blog,
I hope you have all had a good Christmas.  We have had a quiet family Christmas and are looking forward to seeing in the New Year with close family and friends.
Dates for our 2014 workshops are now published on the events page.  Tena and I would love to welcome you to our classes and share what we love doing - creating projects and sharing them.  If you have any friends, family or colleagues that you feel may enjoy our classes, please pass on details.
I'm afraid it's a very quick post from me today.  I will post again at the beginning of January with exciting news of how to get free Stampin' Up products and also a fabulous opportunity to become a Demonstrator.
I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2014.
Best wishes,
Sam x

It's starting to feel alot like Christmas .....

If you've found me via Jo's Blog then welcome.

It's been too long since I was here so I thought as we had our Christmas Workshop on Saturday I would post some of the photos of our projects.  We welcomed two new ladies which is always lovely and we put them through their paces.

The Stampin' Up wood stamp storage boxes are not only fabulous for transferring your wooden stamps to making storage far easier, but they also make great cases for putting together a gift box of cards/stationery or in our case, Christmas cards and tags.

We used the Seasons of Style DSP to slot into the box cover and made a cute pen holder inside the box.

Once the box was covered and the pen in situ, we started on the gift tags

Wreath Tag

Santa's Belly Tag and Naughty or Nice

Mosaic Tag ....with glitter

I like to call this one Happy Santa!  You can't see very clearly, but his beard has a bit of frost courtesy of Dazzlin' Diamonds

Glitter Reindeer

After lunch of bolognese and jacket potatoes, we moved onto Christmas cards.....and warm mince pies & cream....

Lovely as a Tree Stamp set with a touch of sparkle on the trees

2012 Snowflake die still gives such crisp results

Postcard Stamp....there are so many styles and occasions this stamp works for.  One of my favourites.

Try as I might, I cannot upload the last card we's been a week of technical challenges!
I had also made table gifts for our guests - chocolate Santa Bellies!  These are such fun to make and are a great idea for holding money when giving it as a gift.
On our display table, we had a small Christmas tree and one of the ornaments was a gorgeous pinecone that I had made from following a tutorial.  Once I had got the hang of what I was doing, I found them quite quick to make.  I added a bit of dazzlin' diamonds for the obligatory Christmas sparkle and was really impressed with the finish.  I did the top differently to the tutorial instructions as I didn't have any green seam binding but was really pleased with the result.  If you wish to purchase the tutorial please go to

Sadly, that was our last Workshop for 2013.  Tena and I are arranging dates for 2014 which will be posted shortly.  If you'd like to be added to the mailing list for Workshop dates, please drop me an email at  We would love you to join us and share what we love doing the most.
Wishing you a good week.

Wish Lists

I always have my "wish list" of Stampin' Up products close to hand and will always provide my workshop guests with their own copy to fill in and keep.  My wish list has always been handy for my Husband too as it meant he could buy the Christmas & Birthday presents that I wanted without having to give it too much thought (brownie points for him and presents I love!)

No matter how large or small, if you have a wish list that you would like pointing your other half, family or friends in my direction then I am happy for you to give your list to me and let your present giver contact me to arrange or you can share it with them directly and they can choose your gifts and contact me to place an order.

  • Email
  • Call me on 07900 920503 or 02392 528790

Cards & Projects

I have been a bit laid back about crafting at the moment because I have been enjoying the gorgeous weather that we have had on the South coast.  I also managed a long weekend away with my Husband so, all in all, it's been a very relaxing time.

In July, Tena and I held another workshop.  It was a warm day and Tena's lovely Husband made us fresh lemonade (I don't think he expected it all to be gone!) and we worked our guests hard, making a total of 10 things.  Admittedly some were duplicate cards (the new In-Colours are just too gorgeous to choose one colour) but everyone had a good time.

Tena demonstrated two 3d projects and two cards and I demonstrated a set of cards.  I like to make up a few simple designs in one go so I always know I have a card to hand if I need one (like my Mum always had a drawer with a packet of notelets in)

3d project - tealight holder.  This is a fabulous simple design and makes a great little gift or table present

Post-it note holder

Great idea for a male card

Embossing & some clever cutting

A quick & simple design which we replicated in all of the 2013-14 In-colours
Our next workshops are on the 28th September and 16th November 2013 in Gosport, Hampshire.  If you would like to join us, we would love to see you there.  Please email me at to secure your place.  Beginners welcome.  Craft space and two projects is £20 or you can just pay for your space and work on your own projects for £12.  Lunch and beverages included.

Enjoy your weekend.

Wise old owls & new paper

One of the fabulous opportunities of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is that I get to preview the new products being released and also have an opportunity to purchase a selection beforehand.

I was not disappointed when "Gingham Garden" arrived.  With its bright and cheery colours and gorgeous patterns, I was smitten.

I used some of the papers to make my Daughter's Birthday Card and knowing she loves owls, I turned to the owl punch and of course some stones to add a bit of bling.

I cannot wait to do some scrap layouts with these papers.

Available after 2nd July, if you would like your own set of Gingham Garden papers, please get in touch with me to order.

I hope you have a great week.

In Colour Floral

I have fallen in love with the new Stampin' Up! In-colours that are due for release in just over a week's time.  I couldn't resist a play with them and made this box frame floral ring for my Daughter's birthday present (it was all she got as she had money towards a car!)  This was quite an easy project to do and the most time was taken with scrunching the card.  I am really pleased with the results.

There is another sneak peek here but I will save telling you about until another time......

I hope you love these colours as much as I do and enjoy using them on your projects.  If you would like to see a copy of the new catalogue which is available on 2nd July this can be purchased from me for £4.95 or free if you host a workshop in your home.  If you would like more information, please get in touch.

Enjoy your week.

Workshop Projects

Firstly, apologies for the time I have spent away from my blog.  Life has been extremely hectic and we have been settling back into a family routine now that Hubby is home for a while.

One of the fabulous things about having my Hubby home is the unwavering support he gives to my Stampin' Up business including getting up early on his Saturday off to help run the kitchen and prepare the workshop lunch at mine and Tena's workshop yesterday....

We had another lovely day with our talented ladies who we love to see put their own creativity to the projects Tena and I bring along for them.

Here are two of the projects Tena prepared for the morning class.  There was a third card but it had an unfortunate meeting with an ink pad before I got to photograph it!

This gift card holder uses the Bigz Top Note Die

The other card is a split negative card using Whisper White and Pool Party card and embossing poser.  Very quick and easy and absolutely stunning.  The Swallowtail stamp is available until 30th June 2013

After a delicious lunch, some fruit plus some very naughty chocolate eclairs (mini ones so we are redeemed!), we made an Envelope Album.  This involved a bit of concentration at the beginning with some measuring and scoring & it coordinated beautifully.  The envelopes are medium Crumb Cake and each guest had half of one of a Simply Scrappin' kit - in this case "Afternoon Daydream"

The pockets made from the envelopes had inserts with ribbon pull tabs.  These were made from the Top Note Die

The kit coordinate colours were More Mustard, Pool Party, Basic Gray and Primrose Petals.  The kit come with plain cardstock, double sided patterned paper and a large selection of really thick cardstock stickers

Tena had made our guests a table gift.....
yes we had biscuits & cake too!

Our workshop guests all have a different level of crafting experience and different crafting favourites and with age ranges from one pre-teenage girl to ladies of more mature years, papercrafting really does appeal to everyone.  We love to see the creative changes our guests make to their projects as they experiment with our selection of stamp sets, punches and dies available.

If you are interested in attending our next workshop in July or holding a Stampin' Up! Party in the comfort of your own home with a few friends, please contact me to discuss the benefits available to you as a Party hostess.

Take care and have a great week,

Sam x

For our demo table at our workshop, I decorated a couple of the Kraft Gift Boxes to show how beautiful these can be.  I stamped images around them and on the "love" one, used dazzlin' diamonds to add a bit of bling.  The boxes are £2.75 for 4 boxes which are also food safe.

Top of the box decorated using pieces from the Artisan Embellishment Kit (available until 30th June)

The tag on top is from the "Pop-up Posies Designer kit" (available until 30th June).

At the moment the Pop-up Posies Designer Kit is one of my favourites.  I love making the flowers and for £11.95 you get 9 tags, 9 fabric brads, enough flowers to make a minimum of 9 flowers, 9 pieces of Bakers Twine and a "Just for You" wood mounted stamp.  I can't believe the value.

See you soon,

Sam x

Colour Refresh

Stampin' Up! have announced that from the 1st July when the new Annual Catalogue is available, they will be refreshing some of their colour palettes. Ten colours will be leaving us and will be replaced by some new colours including some of your favourites from previous years' In Colour Collections.

Have a look below to see which colours we'll be saying goodbye & hello to

As you may have guessed, I am a Pool Party fan so am very relieved to see that staying!

The papers that will be discontinued are now only available as limited stock so if you have a particular favourite and would like to stock up, please contact me to place an order.

Until next time,

Sam x

First workshop

I hope you have had a good weekend.  I can't believe that we are having such a cold spring!  At least this weather doesn't make me feel too bad about staying in & crafting!

Yesterday we held our first Workshop in Gosport.  We had such a great day meeting new ladies, some of whom had never crafted before, but took to it like ducks to water and produced some beautiful cards and layout.

I gave you a sneak of the layout we were going to do and now you can see the whole of it....

There was also the option to do this layout using the Pool Party 12x12 Co-ordinations card.  It's amazing how just a change of background colour gave the project a whole different look. It was great to see experimentation with different styles - as I have said before, scrapbooking is about your style, your memories and your story so whilst using the same layout is a great compliment, adding your own style really makes it yours.

I will upload photos of our other 3 projects during the week so please stop by to see the projects Tena created for our guests.

If you wish to join us for our next Workshop, this will be on Saturday 18th May at Nicholson Hall, Stoke Road, Gosport.  The day will be £20 including projects and lunch and will run from 10am - 4pm.

Please contact me at to book your place, secured with a £5 deposit.

Have a fabulous week.

Best wishes,

Sam x

Bloomin' with Kindness

Hello on this spring afternoon!

I hope you are enjoying a good weekend.

Last night I did a Workshop for a lovely lady who is a very competent scrapbooker and produces some beautiful work.  She was joined by 10 friends, a few that had never made a card since their childhood.  I was really impressed that everyone gave the project a go and knew the non-crafters would be pleasantly surprised with their project.

We used the En Francois and Confetti stamps for the background in crumb cake (inspired by a scrapbook layout by Margaret Jones and used the flower and word stamps from the Bloomin' with Kindness stamp set with the vibrant Primrose Petals colours.

This stamp set is fast becoming my new favourite - I know it changes fortnightly! - and I absolutely love the image the flower gives.  It gives real detail and depth and I can see this being used on lots of different projects.

What I love about working with crafters, especially new people, is that they give each project their own twist which is what it is all about really.  Some of the ladies used the Polka Dot embossing folder on the background Primrose Petals later to give some texture and almost all were smitten by the Pearl jewels that soon adorned their cards and really added the finishing touches.

It was a lovely evening with lots of fun and some lovely Hostess Benefits for the Hostess.  If you would like to hold a workshop in your home, please get in touch with me and I will be happy to discuss further.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Tea for Two Layout

Hubby is away tonight so I am spending my Valentine evening catching up on some crafting and admin!

Despite it being 14th Feb, I have not done a love themed project but I wanted to share a layout that I have completed using the Tea for Two papers from the Spring/Summer Catalogue.  These are beautiful and lend themselves to vintage style projects, although I think the colours work well giving a modern twist.

This was a quick layout to complete with just a bit of cutting and sticking.  The most time consuming part was waiting for the Crystal Effects to dry on the round embellishment at the bottom of the photo that I wanted to give a vintage broach type feel to.

The girl in the photo is my Mum and as soon as I saw these papers knew where this photo was going.  In this layout, I want my journalling to be very private so it will be written onto a tag and inserted into the back of the photo which has been attached as a pocket.

Product List:
S/S - Spring Summer Catalogue
A/C - Annual Catalogue
Tea for Two DSP (S/S)
Island Indigo card (photo mount) (A/C)
So Saffron card (ticket) (A/C)
Island Indigo Bakers Twine (A/C)
Paper Doilies (S/S)
Flower Trim (S/S)
Crystal Effects (A/C)
Vintage Faceted Designer Button (A/C)
That's the Ticket Stamps (S/S)
Ticket Duo Builder Punch (A/C)
Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies (S/S)
Pearls (A/C)
Feels Good Stamp Set (S/S)
Early Espresso Ink (A/C)

One of the projects at our workshop on the 23rd March will be a scrapbook layout.  It would be great if you could join us at Nicholson Hall, Stoke Road, Gosport and please email me at for booking or further information.

I hope you are having a fabulous evening whatever you are doing and hope you stop by soon.

Best wishes,

Sam x

Tea for two

Good evening,

Tonight I wanted to share quickly a card that I made using some of the new designer series papers that are available in the Spring Summer Catalogue.

The series is called Tea for Two and is bringing Spring into our lives with the beautiful coordinating colours.

I also added a paper doilie, Island Indigo cards, a splash of sunshine with So Saffron card, some bakers twine and a vintage faceted button - all available through either the main catalogue or the Spring Summer one.

It's boosted my mood on this cold Winter night.

See you soon,

Sam x

Canvas Bag

Well, have you settled into this week yet?  I have started on Valentines Day projects but more of that once he's had his card .....

I wanted to share with you something I made a while back but didn't post as I was waiting for the 1st February and the release of the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Catalogue.

On Sunday I had a training session with some fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  Everyone that attended made swaps for each other and I chose to decorate canvas bags for everyone using a gorgeous new fabric that is available in the new SS catalogue. I made 12 to give away and received some beautiful products from my fellow demonstrators in return.

The fabric is called More Amore Designer Fabric & is even more lovely in real life than in the book.  It coordinates to a paper series, cardstock and of course some of the most gorgeous ink colours that are available.

Products used :
Plain Canvas bag (available from good Craft stores)
More Amore Designer Fabric (S/S 129307)
Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies (S/S 130159)
Beautiful Wings Embosslits (AC 118138)
Seam Binding Ribbon in Pool Party (AC 125582)
Flower Trim (S/S 126869)
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set (AC 120501)
Primrose Petals Ink - 2012-2014 In Colour (AC 126858)

If you would like a copy of the Spring Summer (SS) Catalogue, please drop me an email at and I will be happy to post one out to you.

Best wishes,

Sam x

Vintage Style Card

I have been making some vintage style cards and one of my favourite paper series to use is the Fan Fair DSP.

On the card in this example, I have used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on cardstock in the corner but I have also added a little touch of my own by using an embossing folder as a background stamp over the pink paper.

This technique is easy to do by gently tapping a large ink pad over the raised side of an embossing folder and pressing it onto your paper or card.  To create a lighter image, I tend to very softly dab at the inked folder before stamping.

This is a great way to coordinate your cards and scrapbook layouts.

In this card I have used crumb cake paper, fan fair DSP, Creative Elements stamp, some very vanilla seam binding and - of course for the ultimate in vintage - one of the gorgeous vintage faceted designer buttons.

You may also notice I have added some lace under the binding.  This is a stamped image using a builder wheel stamp - Viola's Lace.  This was stamped onto very vanilla paper using Early Espresso ink and cut.  I love the effect of this stamp which gives a real vintage addition to your projects.

I will post again soon with news of great offers and a tempt of some gorgeous new products.

Happy crafting.

Valentines Day will soon be upon us and Stampin' Up! are running a freebe promotion until January 21st 2013.

If you purchase the exclusive Valentine Stamp Set - My Little Valentine - you will receive the Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit absolutely free

Both sets could be used at any time of the year to pen a love note (I have been known to leave them in my Husband's work shirt pocket) or perhaps an unexpected letter to someone dear.  These could even be used on a scrapbook layout as the colours are fabulous and would work well with a black & white photo maybe.

Time to relax now and make the most of what is left of the weekend.

Have a fabulous week.
