Beautiful Box Frame

Hello and thank you for stopping by,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend and certainly for us on the south coast of the UK, it's been a beautiful sunny day.

I want to share with you this box frame which was a recent project from one of our workshops.  I really enjoy making box frames and the ladies that attended the class enjoyed themselves too.  Some of them added more embellishments - one of things which is great about our workshops is that you have scope to change designs to your taste.  I hope you like this as much as I do.  It didn't really come out very well in the photo, but the dragonfly is cut in glimmer paper for a really subtle sparkle. I think that as well as looking great in the home, these frames make thoughtful gifts as you can personalise them to the recipient.

Although it's been a warm and sunny day, my thoughts are turning to Christmas as I have gathering some ideas for our Christmas Workshop.  If you'd like to join us, please pop over to the classes tab at the top of the page for a list of our workshop dates.  Don't forget you can contact me if you'd like to host a small gathering of friends at home and spend the evening making a project to take away, or if you have any questions about the workshops at all.

Have a great evening.

Best wishes,

Hello and welcome...

Hello and welcome.

I apologise for my absence from this site.  My blog has taken a considerable back seat as i undertook an exciting career change.

One thing hasn't changed is my love for crafting and, of course, Stampin' Up!  I have still been holding workshops throughout 2016 and recently held a Christmas workshop which was a full day filled with projects, prizes, food and treats.

I promise to share some photos over the coming week of the projects I have been working on and also the dates for my 2017 classes and workshops.

I have also just returned from our Stampin' Up! event where I met some very inspirational demonstrators and received some amazing swaps from fellow SU demonstrators. I can promise you, this was a great place to be and I will be sharing with you how you could attend one of these amazing and inspiring events.

See you soon.

Have a fabulous week.  Best wishes,

2016 classes

Hi and welcome,

Looking out of my doors onto the garden, it a typical Autumn day.  There is a low mist over the grass and my trees and shrubs are all beautiful shades of green, yellow and orange.  This colour palette has inspired me to use some inks which have been neglected over the Summer months.

I have published the dates for our 2016 workshops and these can be found on the "classes" tab.  There is a slight increase in the cost of the workshops which is due to increased costs which we have to meet but we still feel that our classes provide excellent value for money for a whole day and, as always, will continue to include lunch, treats and beverages plus materials.

If you'd like to book a place on a workshop, or have any other queries or questions please do get in touch with me.

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday.

Best wishes,

Craft Space

Hello and welcome,

I am always in awe of some the craft room tour tutorials I have seen on the internet and until a few months ago, I crafted on my dining room table which was frustrating when I was in the middle of projects and had to tidy away!

We have a lovely room at the back of our house attached to the dining room which has  double doors onto our garden.  This room has always functioned as our guest bedroom, computer room, filing and paperwork area and book storage.  Whilst we needed to keep all of that, we decided to replace the furniture so that the computer space became a craft desk for me and that I had useful storage pieces which fitted everything so it was to hand and I didn't have to spend time rummaging.

It goes without saying that this room is now called my craft room although it is still used as our family room and spare bedroom!

One of the ladies who attended our Christmas workshop was asking about furniture for craft rooms so I said that I would send her some photos of mine and my Ikea furniture which seems to fit the needs of a crafter perfectly.  So whilst this is not a craft room tour, it is a couple of photos of the great storage I have which really has made crafting a whole lot easier.

This trolley has been a great solution to my Big Shot problem of having to get it out of the cupboard each time I needed it and then having to find space for it.  This now sits nicely next to my desk and can be wheeled out of the way of the drawers.  The shelves have lots of space for embossing folders, dies, plates and wax paper and chipboard and I still have room for more!  By turning the top tray over, it meant I had a platform where the big shot can sit and doesn't need to be moved.

Most things I need are now to hand.  More A4 paper sits in the desk filing drawer.  As you can see, the computer screen sits nicely on the shelf and the keyboard tucks away leaving me a craft space.

I hadn't intended on buying this unit and I only saw it in Ikea as they were using it as a filing unit in their kitchen planning department!  This is perfect for stamp sets and my punches which fit in the larger bottom drawers.

Here you can see how everything sits together and although it's not a massive space, means that I don't have to tidy up.....I could only wish it was this tidy all the time!  Above my desk is an Ikea bookshelf which we have turned & secured to the wall.  This fits the printers and, of course, has a generous section for my 12x12 papers.

I really love my space now and the difference it has made to being able to craft without tidying away after every session.

Thank you for stopping by.

Best wishes and happy crafting,

Sam x

Christmas Workshop

Good afternoon & welcome,

At our recent Christmas workshop, we were joined by 20 ladies.  We ran a longer day starting at 9.30am and finishing at 7pm.  The ladies all received goodie bags filled with paper, embellishments, ribbon and a wooden stamp set to make their projects for the day.

The focus of the day was the Jolly Christmas Stamp set.  I am sure the snowflakes in this set are similar to ones which were available the very first Christmas I "found" Stampin' Up!.  I still love them.

We had a hot lunch of jacket potato and salad and my lovely Hubby had made a fabulous Bolognese as a jacket topping.  Of course, we had cake and mince pies too.

One of the projects was a tin filled with cards, envelopes, gift tags, a notepad and pen.  Everything had to be made and that included the decorating of the tin too.   Some of my photos didn't come out clear at all so I am missing a shot of the inside of the completed tin.

The card above had an acetate window and I love the holly leaves.  I found instructions to make these on Michelle Last's blog which you can see here

This is one of the photos which didn't come out well but this project was an mdf plaque and shape which the ladies decorated.  It's not particularly clear but the shape was covered with Iridescent Ice powder to give it a gorgeous shimmery sheen.  The final project was mini crackers made using the Envelope Punch Board.

Everyone who joined us received a table gift of a mug filled with hot chocolate, a chocolate bar and, of course, a candy cane!

Here you can see a couple of the ladies' desks. We also held a "Name Plate" competition where everyone who attended were asked to make a name plate to stand on their desk.  There were some fabulous designs.  In the background you can see their bags which were filled with the papers and embellishments to make their projects.  Around the room we had set up stamping, embossing, big shot and punching stations.

In the table gift mugs, was a label with a number on one side and a raffle ticket on the other.  Throughout the day we span the wheel - my Hubby does love a project - and each number received a prize.  You could only come up once and everyone had a prize.  The raffle ticket was for a large proze and the lucky winner of the Sizzix Texture Boutique embosser was Sue.
And finally, we supplied plenty of chocolate to fuel the ladies throughout the day....
Tena and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and we have had some lovely emails and texts thanking us.  Our November workshop will be our final one for 2015 and although we will have a Christmas project, we will also be focusing on non-Christmas projects.  Our dates for our 2016 workshops (including another Christmas in October workshop) will be posted soon.
If you'd like to join us in November or have any questions, please do get in touch with me at
Thank you for stopping by.
Best wishes,
